A key area of focus for e-Quant is benchmarking.
We have found that benchmarking the performance of your IT Organisation, and comparing it to peer organisations highlights the key areas for potential optimisation and improvement.
For example two major areas of benchmarking that we have extensive experience of are as follows:
Total Cost per user of IT
Through extensive benchmarking we have found that in the UK the average total cost per user of IT is approximately £1,000 p.a. Put simply if your total annual expenditure on IT (capital and operational) divided by the number of IT users in your organisation exceeds £1,000 then your IT costs are unnecessarily high, and you should have the potential for savings.
For those organisations that have per annum costs in excess of £1,000 per user we can help to identify those areas where potential savings can be made.
UK Council IT Costs Survey
We have benchmarked the cost of IT per user for all the Councils within England. The results show that a minority of Councils do indeed manage to provide their IT in a cost efficient way, with a per user cost of IT below £1,000 p.a. However the great majority of Councils are far less cost efficient, with a few of the worst offenders having a per user cost for IT in excess of £4,000 per annum.

• Expected total number of Incidents per user (on monthly or per annum basis)
• Average cost of Incident resolution
• Average cost of outage
• Expected Net Promoter score for customer satisfaction analysis
• Emergency changes as a percentage of total changes
• Average number of Service Desk staff required for volume of Incidents
